While on a AWD hosted Marvin Plant Tour, the lead architect brought up this project and his two main concerns; the 2 color exterior and a low maintenance solution that would keep the integrity of this stone construction building built in the 1800’s. As you can see, Marvin was able to recreate the custom color and supply exterior casings in a different color to the windows and door. Not only a beautiful restoration but an energy efficient one as well.View Gallery
Though less than 20 years old, this building had single pane Weather Shield windows. AWD replaced all 100 with Marvin’s Clad Tilt-Pac without demolition. Energy efficient features include insulated glass, Low E II coating, and Argon gas to reduce energy costs. Removable wood grilles preserved existing aesthetics. Also installed: Clad Inswing French Doors and Clad Round top of Casement windows.View Gallery
After completion of the CDA building, AWD was invited to help preserve this historic pump house on the same property. The building was completely gutted and transformed into a media room and cigar room for the owner. AWD replicated the original windows with Variation 5 wood ultimate double hungs, with meticulous custom woodwork added to the interior and exterior. The owner was so satisfied, he invited AWD to work on his private home.View Gallery
The owner and builder of this home insisted on Marvin windows and doors knowing its location overlooking the Hudson River was exposed to harsh rains and winds. Only Marvin would stay beautiful and keep out the elements. The innovative custom Mission Style lite patterns were designed to simulate transoms over casement windows. French casements and Inswing French doors were also used. All units feature Marvin’s low maintenance aluminum clad exterior in Pebble Grey with wood interiors. For energy savings, all units include insulated glass with Low E II coating and Argon gas. AWD’s Quality Assurance Program performed prior to applying walls and trim ensure this installation will remain trouble-free for decades.View Gallery
AWD provided various services for Deerkill Day Camp. One project called for the replacement of several old and drafty windows. The windows would not open properly leaving the camp’s theater building without any form of ventilation or the ability to stop damp cold air from entering in. AWD replaced these windows with the Integrity All Ultrex product. All Integrity products meet ENERGY STAR® guidelines, meeting strict standards of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. The camp director, Todd Rothman, was very pleased with the improvement of the air quality and temperature of the room. Now the campers can enjoy their theater building in comfort!View Gallery
